First Year Done!

Well that's the first year coming to an end, and what a year! A huge thanks to my first clients Malcolm Allan Housebuilders Ltd and The Scotsman Group for supporting me kickstarting the new business, it's great being involved in so many new developments throughout Aberdeen City, Shire and Fife.

When you know, you know...

Another first for me while working with another client Malcolm Allan Housebuilders Ltd, this time developing new applications and approaches to engineering and building solutions. This one is definitely thinking outside the box, or (Lego Block in this case!)

Manufactured offsite in their own pre-cast concrete plant, this Legato Wall system might look simple, like child’s play, but when you know, you know - the quality, the finish, the speed, the lines, the tilt, it just screams strength and stability.

St Andrews SPACE Student Accommodation update

I’ve not posted any updates in a while, still finding my feet in this “new start-up business” arena!
Getting ready for the largest timber frame structure in Scotland (apparently) coming. First half of the concrete floor down and scaffolding going up. The slab goes back as far as the orange netting! 200 bed students accommodation over 4 storeys in total.
Meantime we’ve the small task of getting the first block on the left (100 students accommodation) up, watertight and roughed in.
Excellent project, with a great team, and a client pushing the boundaries in terms of students lifestyle and living space.

First month done!

First month done ✅ and have to say, I’m thoroughly enjoying it! So much variety, plenty of opportunities, loads of introductions and chats about potential clients and business.

A complete mixed bag, from unlocking new developments and removing constraints, adding value to projects, introducing sustainability and practical solutions, and exploring some partnering opportunities. And nice to be getting involved in other sectors outside of residential. hashtag#noregrets

First week done!

First proper week nearly done, and what a week!

I secured my first two clients and contracts, with two highly respected developers, providing project management support in residential and student accommodation development.

The business became an approved member of Homes for Scotland, The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce.

And I've just ended the week being told that I've passed the 2nd stage of my Chartered Environmentalist Society for the Environment (SocEnv) application, with just the interview to go!
